Becoming an Agent
What is the Liftd Agent Program?
The Liftd Agent Program lets you earn commissions by referring gym owners to Liftd. When a gym you refer signs up and becomes a paying customer, you earn 15% of their subscription fee every month for as long as they remain a customer.
Who can become a Liftd agent?
Anyone can apply! We welcome fitness professionals, gym consultants, equipment salespeople, personal trainers, gym managers, and anyone with connections in the fitness industry. No prior sales experience is required.
How do I apply to become an agent?
Visit liftd.ai/agent and click 'Become an Agent.' Fill out the application form with your information and how you plan to refer gyms. Our team reviews applications within 2-3 business days.
Is there a cost to join the program?
No, the Agent Program is completely free to join. There are no fees, no minimum requirements, and no commitments. You only earn—never pay.
What are the requirements to be approved?
We look for agents who have connections in the fitness industry and a genuine interest in helping gyms succeed. There's no strict criteria—we approve most applicants who demonstrate they understand Liftd's value proposition.
Can I be an agent if I'm outside the US?
Yes! The Agent Program is global. You can refer gyms anywhere in the world, and we'll pay commissions to agents in any country where we can send payments (most countries supported via PayPal or bank transfer).
Do I need to be a gym owner to be an agent?
No, you don't need to own a gym. Many of our top agents are personal trainers, fitness consultants, or equipment salespeople. Anyone with gym industry connections can succeed.
Can I refer my own gym?
Yes! If you own or manage a gym and sign up using your own referral code, you'll get 15% back on your own subscription. It's a great way to save money.
Commissions & Earnings
How much commission do I earn?
You earn 15% of the monthly subscription fee for every gym you refer. This is recurring—you earn 15% every month for as long as the gym remains a paying customer.
Can you give an example of earnings?
Sure! If you refer a gym on the Growth plan ($99/month), you earn $14.85/month. Refer 10 gyms on Growth, and that's $148.50/month in passive income. Refer 50 gyms and you're earning $742.50/month!
Is the commission recurring or one-time?
Recurring! You earn 15% every single month the gym stays subscribed. This builds passive income over time. Agents who've been with us for years earn significant monthly income from referrals made long ago.
How long do I receive commissions for a referral?
For the lifetime of that gym's subscription. As long as they're paying Liftd, you're earning. If they upgrade to a higher plan, your commission increases too.
What happens if a gym I referred downgrades their plan?
Your commission adjusts to 15% of their new plan price. If they downgrade from Pro ($179) to Growth ($99), your monthly commission goes from ~$27 to ~$15.
What if a gym I referred cancels?
You stop earning commissions for that gym when they cancel. However, if they resubscribe later using your referral link again, you resume earning.
Is there a cap on how much I can earn?
No cap! The more gyms you refer, the more you earn. Our top agents earn thousands per month. There's no limit to your potential.
Do I earn commission during a gym's free trial?
Commissions start when the gym becomes a paying customer (after their 14-day trial). You don't earn during the trial, but once they convert, you start earning immediately.
What if a gym signs up for annual billing?
Great news—annual subscriptions mean you get a year's worth of commission upfront (paid out over monthly payouts). Annual plans also have a 20% discount, but your commission is based on the actual amount paid.
Referral Process
How does the referral process work?
You get a unique referral code and link. Share this with gym owners. When they sign up using your link or enter your code during registration, they're tracked as your referral. Once they become paying customers, you earn commission.
Where do I find my referral code?
Log in to your Agent Dashboard at liftd.ai/agent/dashboard. Your unique referral code and shareable link are displayed prominently on the main page.
How should I share my referral link?
Share it however works best for you: direct conversations, email, social media, your website, business cards, or during sales meetings. The most successful agents have personal conversations with gym owners.
Does the gym owner need to use my exact link?
They can either click your unique link OR manually enter your referral code during signup. Both methods work and track the referral to you.
How long is a referral cookie valid?
30 days. If a gym owner clicks your link but doesn't sign up immediately, they're still attributed to you if they sign up within 30 days.
What if a gym owner forgets to use my code?
Contact our support team at agents@liftd.ai within 7 days of signup with proof you referred them (email conversation, etc.). We can manually attribute referrals in legitimate cases.
Can I refer a gym that's already using Liftd?
No, referrals only count for new customers. If a gym already has a Liftd account, they can't be referred. You can check if a gym is already signed up by searching in your dashboard.
What happens if two agents refer the same gym?
The first agent whose link/code the gym used gets credit. Referrals are attributed on a first-come, first-served basis based on when the code/link was used.
Payouts & Payments
How do I get paid?
We pay via PayPal or direct bank transfer. Set up your preferred payment method in your Agent Dashboard under Settings → Payout Method.
When do I get paid?
Payouts are processed on the 15th of each month for the previous month's commissions. For example, commissions earned in January are paid out on February 15th.
Is there a minimum payout threshold?
Yes, the minimum payout is $50. If your balance is below $50, it rolls over to the next month until the threshold is met. This helps reduce transaction fees.
What currencies do you pay in?
We pay in USD. If you're in a different country, your bank or PayPal will convert to your local currency at their exchange rate.
Are there any fees deducted from my payout?
We cover PayPal fees for US agents. For international agents or bank transfers, standard transaction fees may apply depending on your bank.
How do I view my earnings and payout history?
Your Agent Dashboard shows current balance, pending commissions, referral details, and complete payout history. You can export this data for your records.
Do I need to provide tax information?
US agents earning over $600/year will receive a 1099 form for tax purposes. We'll ask for your tax ID (SSN or EIN) when you approach that threshold. International agents should consult local tax requirements.
Can I choose to receive payouts less frequently?
Currently, payouts are monthly on the 15th. If you prefer quarterly payments (to reduce transaction frequency), contact support and we can arrange it.
Marketing & Resources
Do you provide marketing materials?
Yes! Access the Agent Resource Center in your dashboard for brochures, presentations, email templates, social media graphics, case studies, and talking points—all designed to help you sell Liftd.
Can I create my own marketing materials?
Yes, as long as they accurately represent Liftd. Please use our official logo and follow brand guidelines (available in the Resource Center). Submit custom materials for approval if you're unsure.
Are there video demos I can share?
Yes, we have product demo videos, customer testimonials, and explainer videos you can share with prospects. All available in your dashboard.
What's the best way to pitch Liftd to gym owners?
Focus on their pain points: member retention, equipment ROI, and the blind spot in their current software. Emphasize that Liftd shows them what happens INSIDE the gym, not just who walks through the door. Our Resource Center has detailed pitch guides.
Can I offer discounts to gym owners I'm pitching?
Agents cannot offer custom discounts. However, gyms always get a 14-day free trial and 20% off annual plans. These standard offers are usually enough to close deals.
Do you have case studies I can share?
Yes! We have case studies from gyms of various sizes showing retention improvements, cost savings, and member satisfaction gains. Available in your Resource Center.
Can I co-brand materials with my company?
Contact our agent support team to discuss co-branding options. We can work with you on custom materials for enterprise-level agents.
Is there training available?
Yes! New agents get access to our online training modules covering Liftd's features, common objections, and sales techniques. We also host monthly agent webinars with tips and updates.
Agent Dashboard
What can I do in the Agent Dashboard?
View your referral code/link, track referred gyms, see earning history, access marketing materials, update payout settings, and monitor your performance—all in one place.
How do I track which gyms I've referred?
Your dashboard shows a list of all referrals: gym name, signup date, current plan, status (trial/active/churned), and commission earned. You have full visibility.
Can I see which referrals are in free trial?
Yes, the dashboard shows referral status. Gyms in trial show as 'Trial' and convert to 'Active' (earning you commission) once they become paying customers.
How real-time is the dashboard data?
Most data updates within a few hours. New signups appear within 24 hours. Commission calculations update daily.
Can I have multiple agents on one account?
Each person should have their own agent account with their own referral code. We don't support team/shared accounts at this time.
Is there a mobile app for agents?
The Agent Dashboard is fully responsive and works great on mobile browsers. A dedicated agent app may be developed in the future based on demand.
How do I change my payout settings?
Go to Settings → Payout Method in your dashboard. You can switch between PayPal and bank transfer, and update your payment details anytime.
Can I export my referral data?
Yes, you can export your referral list and earning history as CSV files from the dashboard. Useful for your own record-keeping or reporting.
Tips for Success
How do I become a top-performing agent?
The best agents: (1) Understand Liftd's value deeply, (2) Target the right gyms (those frustrated with current software or experiencing churn), (3) Follow up persistently, and (4) Build relationships rather than doing hard sells.
What types of gyms should I target?
Focus on: independent gyms (not big chains), boutique fitness studios, CrossFit boxes, personal training studios, and gyms actively trying to reduce member churn. These are most likely to see Liftd's value.
What's the most common objection from gym owners?
'We already have gym management software.' Counter: 'Traditional software shows who walked in, not what they did. Liftd tells you which machines they used, if they're making progress, and who's about to cancel. That's data your current software can't provide.'
How can I demonstrate Liftd to a prospect?
Use the demo videos in your Resource Center, or ask our team for a sandbox account to show the gym owner dashboard live. Seeing is believing—show them the equipment analytics they're missing.
Should I offer to help gyms with setup?
Offering setup assistance can close deals! It's simple—you can walk them through adding machines and printing QR codes. The whole process takes 30 minutes. This personal touch builds trust.
How do I handle price objections?
Focus on ROI: Saving just one member per month ($50 avg) more than pays for the Starter plan ($49). Show the retention ROI calculator on liftd.ai. Equipment-level analytics aren't available anywhere else—unique value justifies the price.
Is it better to focus on quantity or quality of referrals?
Quality. Ten qualified referrals who convert and stay long-term earn you more than 50 unqualified leads who don't convert or churn quickly. Focus on gyms that genuinely need Liftd.
How long does it typically take to close a deal?
Varies widely—some sign up immediately, others take weeks of follow-up. The free trial helps: get them to try it risk-free, then check in during the trial to answer questions.
Program Policies
Can I be removed from the Agent Program?
Yes, we reserve the right to remove agents who: misrepresent Liftd, engage in spam or unethical marketing, create fake referrals, or violate our terms of service. We don't remove agents for low performance—take your time.
What happens to my commissions if I'm removed?
Earned commissions up to the removal date will still be paid out. Future commissions from existing referrals cease upon removal.
Can I transfer my agent account to someone else?
No, agent accounts are non-transferable. Each agent must apply individually.
Are there any activities prohibited for agents?
Yes: spam, false advertising, bidding on Liftd brand keywords in ads, creating fake reviews, referring fake gyms, and any deceptive practices. Violations result in immediate removal.
Can I run paid ads using Liftd's name?
You cannot bid on 'Liftd' or similar brand terms in search ads. You can run ads promoting gym software or fitness solutions that link to your referral landing page.
Do I need to disclose I'm a Liftd agent?
If required by local advertising laws (like FTC guidelines in the US), yes. It's best practice to be transparent that you earn a commission for referrals.
What's the exclusivity policy?
There's no exclusivity. You can promote Liftd alongside other products. However, we appreciate agents who prioritize quality and don't recommend competing products to the same prospects.
Can I become an agent if I work for a competitor?
We evaluate these cases individually. Being employed by a direct competitor may create conflicts. Contact us to discuss your specific situation.
Agent Support
How do I get help as an agent?
Email agents@liftd.ai for any questions. You can also use the chat feature in your Agent Dashboard. We aim to respond within 24 hours.
Is there a dedicated agent manager I can talk to?
Top-performing agents get access to a dedicated agent success manager. Otherwise, our support team handles all agent inquiries and can escalate when needed.
Where do I report issues with referral tracking?
Email agents@liftd.ai with the gym's name, signup date, and any proof of referral (email thread, etc.). We investigate and correct tracking issues promptly.
Are there agent community resources?
Yes! Join our Agent Slack channel (link in your dashboard) to connect with other agents, share tips, and get updates directly from the Liftd team.
How do I stay updated on Liftd changes?
We send monthly agent newsletters with product updates, new features, and selling tips. Make sure your email is correct in your dashboard settings.
Can I give product feedback?
Absolutely! Agents often hear directly from gym owners. Share feedback at agents@liftd.ai—we value your insights and use them to improve Liftd.
What if I need help closing a specific deal?
Reach out to agent support. For high-potential deals, we can provide custom demos, special onboarding support, or even join calls with prospects.
How often does the Agent Program change?
We rarely change commission rates or core terms. If changes occur, agents are notified 30 days in advance. We're committed to being a reliable partner.
